What's Up The Street for Next Week?

Happy 4th of July!!
(three days late)

We're decking the Alley out in all in the left over red, white and blue streamers. And since Colorado can't light any fireworks, we'll throw off a few virtual ones just for them.

Did you spend some family time around the campfire? Roast hotdogs and marshmallows? Take copious notes on how to give your latest secondary character your Uncle Phil's annoying quirk?

Or how about Aunt Sally snorts when she laughs....*

So while I'm enjoying extended family at our own mini reunion (and taking plenty of story character worthy notes) here is what is coming up next week, so check it out!

Angie takes us to the black moment on Monday with examples from Jane Eyre and She Walks in Beauty (spoilers will be included... ;-)

Julia talks about writing in community.

ACFW 2010 Genesis winner Jennifer Fromke is guest posting on the Alley on Wednesday. Take the reader to a different world!

Are in waiting in sync with God's plan for your writing life? Or are you rushing ahead? Ashley talks on the topic on Thursday.

A setting should never blend into the background. Cindy brings it front and center on Friday.

News Stand

ACFW has launched a new contest for unpublished authors. Get the scoop on First Impressions here

Casey is throwing a party in one week!! RSVP and get more details on her blog.

Did you see Mary's debut vlog and her new website last week? Check it out!!

*I promise here and now that none of these relatives are my own, nor do any of my aunts snort when she laughs. To my knowledge anyway.... ;-)*

Jane Eyre on Monday?! I can't wait to come back and read about my all-time favorite book. Next week's line-up sounds fantastic so I'll just hang around for the rest of these posts too. : )

Happy 4th (a little late here too).
