You ever have one of those days (weeks, months) where life
is just one relentless bully, pummeling you with trials? A bit of a downer,
huh? Sure it would be wicked sweet if we were always on top. Good news,
productive days, excess sleep, unexpected blessings, sunshine and sweetness,
peace and quiet. Ahh, yes, can you imagine piling several of those good’uns into
a single day?
But things aren't always so rosy. We get it. We're strong and resilient. And we can appreciate that gorgous vista even more after we've endured a trecherous climb. But then again, there are other times when we find ourselves in the “When it rains, it pours” category. Been
there? There are seasons of life in between those glorious upsweeps where we likely
resemble a drowned rat.
Whether big heartaches and disappoints...or those little
tests that chip away at you a piece at a time.
For me, at this point in my life, I’ve often faced a weeks worth of
frustration in the time it takes to get the kids out of the house and to
preschool Monday morning.
Tantrums, whining, throwing, pushing, and sibling rivalry at
its finest… all before 9 am.
Whew!
Days like these, man… my last nerve is shorn to a nub, my
patience whittles away until it is on par with my ornery lil tots, and each little battle
piles on another pound of irritation until all I want to do is self medicate
with a good book, a creamy cup of Joe, and a big helping of something chocolate
and decadent. Then again, that right there is a setback of its own. Grr!
The point of this highly cathartic rant is that there are
days when you just need a win. Big or small, book contract or free coffee in
the drive thru.
Soooo…. TODAY will be that day for one lucky commenter.
To enter: Leave your email address and a nice soul-cleansing
rant about why you need a win today. I’ll pick my favorite entry to win any
two of these brand new books. So come on… get it off your chest! Let’s
commiserate!

Amy Leigh Simpson writes Romantic Suspense that is heavy on the romance,
unapologetically honest, laced with sass and humor, and full of the
unfathomable Grace of God. She is the completely sleep deprived mama to
two little tow-headed mischief makers, one pretty little princess, and wife to her very own
swoon-worthy hero. Represented by the oh-so-wise and dashing Chip
MacGregor of MacGregor Literary Inc.
