We all have our favorite place to write. I have a comfy chair with an ottoman that I enjoy writing in, and sometimes I take to the couch so my dog is not quite so cramped while he tries to snuggle near my lap. But I have a confession to make. I sometimes fantasize about what kind of writing spaces would make my creative spirit soar.
We are all different, with varied interests and preferences. Some like to write in dark, cozy places. Others like the light and airy spaces. Some like the heat...can't imagine that! And some like the cold. Personally, I think I could write in a variety of places and be a happy camper.
Here's a few ideas....

Who wouldn't like to write in a bed like this? |
|
A little modern, but look at the trays for your coffee and chocolate! |
|
Many people love to go to a nice coffee shop. |
|
Now this is a writer's desk with lots of lovely books. What ambiance! |
|
Ahhh...relaxation and contentment. |
|
How about the lush outdoors? |
|
The majesty of the old library. Mysterious, huh? |
|
Cool, calm, and inviting. |
|
The typical comfy, cozy chair. |
Sigh...I think the hammock and the balcony overlooking the mountains could really help my writing. What do you think? What kind of space would you love to write in?

They all look positively dreamy! I'm going to be fantasizing all day now.
Some of my best writing was done abroad in Sri Lanka – if I become a successful writer, I may have to put it down as a “work requirement” in the contract. : )
Sri Lanka? Wow! Was it a once in a lifetime trip? I definitely think a trip to England or Paris would be a great contract addition. ;)
I'm a coffee shop writer. Love it.
Oh, this is exactly what I needed today especially since I've been camping on my sofa off and on this past week. :)
That writer's desk is my dream desk :) Love that mountain balcony, too.
The hammock is a beautiful setting, but I'm not sure if I'd feel "secure" enough especially since I'm a laptop not pad & pen writer.
I've been dreaming of a soft leather chair in a quiet and well-lit room (cup of coffee on the side).
I love your blog and can't wait to see more.

The out of doors I absolutely love, but I'd be so distracted by the scenery I wouldn't get anything done. The coffee shop is my spot.
Susie, do you know, I have never gone to a coffee shop to write? I think I would be way to distracted. Maybe I will try that sometime soon.
Now Julia, surely you could take your laptop with you in the hammock! ;) Of course, you would need a really long power cord. lol
Miss GOP, welcome! Thanks for the follow! We are delighted to have you. I love a nice, big soft chair, but prefer dim lighting...preferably with candles lit (and coffee by my side...or a diet Dr. Pepper.)
Ellen, I totally understand about getting distracted. My family took a trip to Colorado a couple of years ago and I took my laptop out on the deck and simply watched the clouds rolling over the mountains. Sigh...it was heavenly. ;)
Cool, calm and inviting....that's definitely my spot! While in college, I tried to study in coffee shops. I did more people watching than studying. :)
The hammock gets my vote!
And if it comes with a secluded beach, a gorgeous sunny day, and unlimited refills of iced tea....
Well....I'll be back after I start AND finish my next book.
I'm all for the big comfy chairs! Lovely pics, btw. ;-)
My dream writing destination is being snowed in in a cozy little cabin in Alaska or somewhere, all alone with just my laptop. For any Mythbusters fans, when they tested the myth of Cabin Fever, I was so jealous of the cabin they got to stay in those great little cabins.
I'm just now catching up on blogs... but can I say all of the above???? I mean... wow. That all looked amazing. Even the weird yellow chair/bed thingy!
