What's Up the Street For Next Week?

Oh What A WEEK!!! Anybody else enjoy those interviews? And what a great visit from Susan Meissner on Saturday. If you didn’t get a chance to read her post, check it out here.

Let’s start off this new week in COLOR!! That’s right – Autumn. As the world pulls on its autumn cloak, here are some pictures I took from our family hike last weekend. The trees are just starting to change and the sky is an amazing ‘blue’ color. An autumn blue.

Anybody guessed that this is my favorite time of year! What’s yours? Answer that question and leave your email in the comments section and we’ll place your name in the drawing for Nancy Moser’s fantastic Victorian novel, Masquerade.

WE HAVE WINNERS!!

Sandee6 is the winner of M.L. Tyndall’s newest book, Surrender the Heart. Send your snail mail to me at pepperbasham(at)yahoo(dot)com. Congrats!!

You’ve met our new Alley Shopkeepers, and now you get to read what they have to say about writing. Check out the lineup for the week:

Monday – Join Angie as she talks about rewriting in her post, Rewrite? Not me.

TuesdayStoryboarding for Fiction Writers is today, with your host Julia.

Wednesday –Sarah brings mystery to our Wednesday with Deep Dark Secrets Revealed

Thursday – Expect the unexpected with Wendy’s post - When Characters Surprise You

Friday – Cindy adds method to madness with her post, Writing with a Formula (even if you’re not a plotter)

Saturday- Siri Mitchell is our guest – and let me tell you, she’s as wonderful in person as she is in cyberworld. Here’s a pic of Siri with me at ACFW. Isn’t she adorable?!? She’s a strong proponent of The Moral Premise in her writing. You can learn more about it on a recent (and very fabulous) post at Seekerville.

NEWSTAND

Keep Krista’s little angel, Annabelle in your prayers. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday.

Pepper’s series Seasons Change – Fall Into Love, continues with authors Margaret Brownley, Janet Dean, and Julie Lessman this week. Stop by Words Seasoned With Salt to learn more.

Stop by Mary’s blog to learn about the Helmet game and learn about how the Israelites leave the only home they’ve ever known.

Sarah’s blog is up and active: On Monday, she’s starting a two-part series called Turning Your Toddler Into a Helper and on Wednesday, author Jody Hedlund shares her secret for juggling life in 10 words or less.

Congrats to Sandy!! I know you'll love Masquerade!

And I can't tell you how excited I am about these new contributors! I am going to learn so much from these talented ladies.

Pepper, I see an adorable little girl in pink, but no picture of you and Siri. ;) And may I say, I am so jealous of your beautiful countryside!

Fixed it, Sherrinda.
And Sandy won Surrender the Heart by M.L. Tyndall. We have a whole NEW drawing for Masquerade :-)

Oops...sorry Sandy! You will LOVE LOVE lOVE Surrender the Heart! :)

It is early! Maybe I need another cup of coffee this morning. Don't want to snooze through the sermon today...the preacher might catch me and preach to me when I get home. ;)

Ohh, you remembered! I have been longing for those pictures since you promised them last month. Thank you!! Lovely weekend post and I can't wait to read that interview with Siri! One of my favorite authors by far!

I enjoy stopping by The Alley and how fun to find a book giveaway! I'll throw my name in the ring. Masquerade looks like a good read!

As much as I love fall, I'd have to say my favorite time of year is spring, because I know it signifies many months of warm weather to come--which my old bones appreciate after a cold New York winter!

Autumn is my favorite season by far! Love it, just absolutely love it. And Pepper, is there anyone at the ACFW conference that you DIDN'T get your picture taken with? You were busy, girl! :-)

Hi Case,
I am on my way to do some more research tomorrow, since it's fall break at the university. So...
I hope to get some more pics for next week. Colors like this only happen once a year :-)

Renee Ann-
Talk about COLD. New York?!?
Thankfully, around here the temperature is a little less harsh. Spring is my second favorite season :-) The trees are all in bloom which brings the world to life with color too :-)

LOL, Sarah -
I'm a BIG fan of pictures!! It's to help with my memory. But there were sOOOO many people I wanted to meet.
Siri and I had coffee and a long discussion about her writing process.
Can't wait to have her interview

Renee, Ann. I'm from upstate NY area, oh yes, we know how to do winter.

I can't wait to troll around the blogs this week. I'm excited to read everyone's tips. I've learned a lot from all of you already :)

And Pepper, if Julie's there, I'm there, too. Is there a sweeter author on the internet??

And ooh, Sarah, I would love to get my kids to help more so I am all about your toddler series. PLUS Jody??!! The Preacher's Bride was definitely one of my favorite historicals this year and I am just amazed at all that she does :)

Can't wait for Siri, either. I'm going to have to keep my computer turned off so all these great things don't distract me from homeschooling :)

You have a great line up for the week. I love autumn too, but being Aussie, I'm in spring at the moment (with spring flu -- yay).

Sherrinda Ketchersid said...

Margo, I just looked at your blog and I see you signed up for NaNoWriMo! I did too! We should be buddies! (Though I'm not really sure what buddies are for.)

Linda!!! You poor thing! Spring Flu cannot be pleasant. May you get better soon.

My favorite time of year used to be autumn because my birthday is in October, but there's just too much pollen in the air now for me to really enjoy it. Spring is better for me. I enjoy seeing the beautiful flowers and having warm days again after the cold winter.
I'd love to win a copy of Nancy's book, "Masquerade." Thanks.

Where I live, we don't get to see the changing seasons of Fall . . . it looks lovely though! My favorite season . . . well, I like Spring, but Summer's good too, 'cause there's no school ;-), and I love winter --with my favorite holiday, Christmas! I guess I like all of them equally . . . I'll say summer because of summer break. =)

Thanks for the chance to win!
